Pinky Pilots
My husband, Mush, and I started 'PINKY PILOTS' in 2005 selling My original artwork and prints weekdays in SOHO, and, on the weekends, at various fairs and festival markets. My ideas come from surveying both inanimate and animate life around me, with the objective of extracting those images that I find happy, cute and, in some cases, unique.
Many of my customers are repeat buyers over and over again, and their feedback has been that they not only really enjoy my art, but get a lot of joy from my artwork. By also selling affordable artwork, we want to share images that will easily brighten your apartment or office.
Megu Fukuda
Megumi Fukuda,better known as MEGU,was born and raised in the historic city of Osaka, Japan. where she resided until the time she entered college.The name “Megumi”,when translated from Japanese means to be blessed,shown mercy or grace by God,however her character,as she states in her own words,can best be described as “Machine Gun Crazy Bitch”....
MEGU’s artwork attempts to capture the ordinary things and messages that we as people come into contact with or absorb on a daily basis but tend to overlook.To her these items and messages are important and she cherishes art as a vehicle to communicate back to the masses.
Her art is also an expression of how she feels and at time this expression is achieved as if she were an animal.Some of her work,at times, presents ironic messages against society,incorporates puns or even offers jokes.She likes to tease her audience at time similar to the way a bunny winks and smiles at its predator before scurrying away.It is because of this type of communication that she tends to describe her work as the “Art of the Masses”
